There are 7 important points influencing the quality and price of PVC plastic formwork. Pay attention to avoid following common misconceptions.

1. Distinguish our product and WPC/PVC foam boards

There are huge differences between our product and WPC/PVC foam boards:

01. Different raw materials and costs.

02. Different applications.

03. Different product performances.

04. Different machine and manufacturing processes.

This is a very important point. So detailed explanation in following pages is necessary.

2. Avoid unqualified products made of recycled PVC/PP

To save costs, many suppliers use recycled PVC/PP materials to manufacture, which has the cost being less than 1/3 of our raw materials.

Such materials are recycled from uncontrollable sources which contain much impurities, including:

01. PVC label paper

02. PVC dust mesh

03. PVC drainage pipe

04. Unqualified used formworks

Conclude from our times' testings, even added with 1% recycled PVC/PP materials, the PVC formwork will meet with quality problems, such as serious deformation against sunshine/concrete pressure, doesn’t hold nails, unqualified strength or insufficient elasticity modulus.

3. Avoid new fake formwork products

The solution to solve deformation problems, is to manufacture with qualified raw materials, instead of creating knock offs.

From 2021 year, the markets were almost ruined by unqualified products. Too many customers were cheated and gave up. Gradually unqualified manufacturers lost the markets and reputation.

But they don’t want to use qualified Plastic-steel PVC because it is too expensive to provide ideal profits. Therefore, new tricks appeared: manufacture new knock offs to disguise as PVC formworks.

Be prudent with new products appeared within recent 2~3 years.

4. Avoid being misleaded by wrong guidance

UV-resistance is important, but not the only reference for quality judging.

New fake formwork products use the similar process and formula as WPC/PVC foam boards, so they can hold well under UV. But as explained, WPC/PVC foam board isn't formwork material.

Because of failure experience with unqualified PVC formworks, some customers take UV-resistance as the only judging reference, which is a misperception.

Other product performances are necessary to consider simultaneously.

5. Color, density, or temperature isn't the reason of deformation

Unqualified raw material is the main reason of quality problems, rather than color, density or high temperature.

Some suppliers lie that light-colored PVC formworks or higher density can solve the deformation problem, such as white/yellow, because light colors absorb less UV/temperature. This is a lie.

if being manufactured with unqualified raw materials, PVC formwork will deform no matter it’s white or black color, low or high density.

Because such materials contain the impurities or plastic additives which are not UV-resistant, so it bends under sunshine, no matter what temperatures or colors.

6. Accurate 0.70g/cm³ is the best and most ideal density.

Accurate 0.70g/cm³ is the best density for PVC formwork, can get the best toughness and rigidity.

This is a well-known criterion by each qualified PVC formwork manufacturer.

To solve bending or deformation problems, unresponsible suppliers suggest higher density to customers, like 750~900g/cm³.

The reality is: higher density requests more calcium powder, which means higher profit but worse performance ratio.

So, when meeting with such quality problems, the solution is to find qualified PVC formworks, rather than trying higher density or fresh product.

7. Accurate density error range is important and necessary

Density should be a specific value and be marked explicitly, rather than un-marked or a wide error range.

New and pure Plastic-steel PVC raw material has stable characteristics, so it’s easy to control. We can control density to be within strict tolerance: ±0.5%.

Inversely, because of uncontrollable source, the original density of recycled PVC is higher than 0.70g/cm³, so it's difficult to control accurately.

Wide density error range means wide controllable profits. For example, 0.71g~0.75g/cm³ leads to max 7% prodfit range..

So, this is an obvious method to distinguish the quality.
