Installation guide of China blue color plastic formwork

Tip 01: Edge distance of nails/screws of China blue color plastic formwork

To prolong the life-span of China blue color plastic formwork, we suggest to leave at least 3-5cm distance from the edge when nailing/screwing on it. 

Tip 02: Beam distance of China blue color plastic formwork 

In general, we suggest the same beam distances as the plywood formworks which you are using. But, it differs a bit according to the frame structures and concrete thickness. The stronger structures, the shorter beam distance.

Tip 03: Nailing/screwing distance of China blue color plastic formwork

Same as the general requirements for all formwork materials, to ensure the average load-bearing capacity of the entire sheet, in addition to the appropriate props distance, we also recommend maintaining an average spacing of nails/screws, such as 30 cm. Especially the corners should be fixed well with nails/screws. Or you can keep the regular way that applied to your structures. 

Tip 04: Joint treatment of China blue color plastic formwork

If you want to avoid the concrete sticking into the joint, you can paint the joint. The regular painting is workable enough. Some of our clients use the gel coat.

Tip 05:  Repair the holes of China blue color plastic formwork nails or bolts 

For the nails holes: normally such holes don't leak concrete, so not necessary to fix it. If you have strict requirements, you can use glue or wax to cover them. 

For the bolt holes: plastic plug or adhesive tape. Another solution: normally the bolt holes of one single project have same diameters and locations. So some clients cut formworks sheets into small round pieces with 1mm smaller diameter, and then insert them into the bolt holes.

How to distinguish JINGFANG® China blue color plastic formwork and PVC/WPC foam board?

There are huge differences between our product and WPC/PVC foam boards. This is a very important point. So detailed explanations are necessary. 

01. Different raw materials and costs.

To save costs, WPC/PVC foam board are manufactured with over 60% or even 80% calcium powder, and much wood powder. Some suppliers even use the recycled PVC. Therefore, WPC/PVC foam board has much lower costs than PVC formwork.

02. Different applications.

WPC/PVC foam board are mainly applied for the fields which don't has strict requirements for strength/nails-hold powder, such as adverting, furniturs, decorations, etc. But it isn't strong enough for construction formworks.

03. Different product performances.

Compared with PVC formwork, WPC/PVC foam board has lower strength/hardness/nail-holding powder/flexibility. It easily gets cracking when applying to shuttering. Therefore, it is not a formwork material. Don't be misleaded.

04. Different machines and manufacturing processes.

It is impossible to manufacture qualified PVC formwork by the WPC/PVC foam board machines: can't get qualified surface crust, density, and strength.

So, if one supplier manufactures both products by the same machine, then there is no doubt that: their PVC formwork is unqualified. Every field has its master.
